The Northumberland County United Way isn’t letting the economic downturn effect its fundraising enthusiasm.
Campaign chair Bill Patchett has announced a 900-thousand-dollar goal for 2009, up by 55-thousand from last year.
Executive Director Lynda Kay says the target reflects the needs of the community, since the recession means more people rely on United Way agencies to get by.
