A Cobourg businesswoman will represent the Liberals in Northumberland-Quinte West in the next federal election.
Kim Rudd won 576 of the 955 votes cast in the second ballot at a candidate-selection meeting at the Grafton Arena last night, with Brighton Mayor Chris Harrington taking 379.
Campbellford teacher Andrew McFadyen was removed after the first ballot.
Rudd owns Willis College, a private post secondary school in Cobourg.
