Prince Edward County Council has voted to stand by its original decision to allow a re zoning of land on East Lake to allow a 237 cottage resort to be built. Mayor Leo Finnegan says Council will not interfere in the process leading to a September 9th Ontario Municipal Board hearing. The Friends of East Lake have appealed Council’s re zoning, voicing several concerns about the development. And, in turn, the developers have formally asked the OMB to quickly dismiss the “Friends” appeal. Mayor Finnegan did not comment on the vote, or tone of the meeting on the issue, which was held in closed session.
