Tourist traffic was up by 8.5-percent at Belleville’s Chamber of Commerce Log Cabin this summer. CEO Angela Genereaux says more than 21-hundred people dropped by for tourist information. Genereaux says 40-percent were from Quebec…and, many others were from a 120-kilometer radius….adding there were very few American visitors. She says many of the tourists are looking for information on Prince Edward County. Genereaux says many of the visitors were interested in learning more about the summer festivals such as Rockfest, Big Musicfest and Ribfest. and, there was also an increase in Belleville citizens wanting to know what there was to do in their own town.
