Belleville is backing a campaign to keep the driver and vehicle licensing bureau on College Street West. City Council has decided to petition the province to overturn its decision and keep the bureau open. It employs nine people and Councillor Egerton Boyce says it’s “extremely important” to keep these people employed. Four thousand people have signed a petition at the bureau, and another 15-hundred have signed online.
