Pepper spray has been used on people at a field party west of Brighton.
Northumberland O-P-P charged a Cramahe Township man with five counts of assault with a weapon after the incident late last night.
Several people at the party on Gillespie Road, where fireworks were set off, were sprayed in the face after a group of people carrying baseball bats and sticks surrounded them.
The investigation is continuing.
