A warning from the Northumberland County C-A-O to paramedics.
Bill Pyatt sent an email to all E-M-S Staff and county council members last Friday about work action by the ambulance employees.
He claims the Brighton ambulance was under-staffed and not available during a serious call in Brighton last Wednesday, and the nearest ambulance to respond was from Cobourg, 30 minutes away.
Five paramedics called in sick last wednesday, and another seven were off ill on Thursday and Friday. Pyatt claims paramedics are taking sick days, rather than requesting vacation, knowing they’d be denied because so many other paramedics are on holidays.
