The National Parole Board has postponed its high-profile hearing for former Quinte Hawk and N-H-L player Mike Danton.
Danton, who was imprisoned in 2004 for trying to hire a hitman to kill his agent, David Frost, has been eligible for parole since March, and hoped to get out of prison later this month to try to make a comeback to professional hockey.
His August 28th hearing was put on hold after the board called for a new pyschological assessment.
Danton, who played for the Deseronto-based Quinte Hawks in the mid 1990’s, was transferred to Canada in mid-March to serve the rest of his sentence at the Pittsburgh Institution near Kingston.
