Two Ministry of Natural Resources Employees have been rescued from a boat in trouble in Lake Ontario just south of Brighton.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre at C-F-B Trenton sent two Canadian Coast Guard Vessels to the waters just off High Bluff Island at Presqu’ile Provincial Park after getting a distress call at ten o’clock last night.
The M-N-R employees reported they were having problems, and one of the vessels was able to get close enough to them to pull them aboard.
Their boat, which was floundering in shallow water, sank a short time later. The cause of the boat’s problems and the reason the employees were out at that time of night haven’t been released.
