The city of Belleville is determined to take action against businessman Jim Sinclair if he resumes operation of a salvage yard on the former Bakelite site.
Mayor Neil Ellis told City Council he hopes Sinclair “will cease and desist” the operation since the city has denied his applicaton for rezoning. Councillor Pat Culhane said people should understand that the city must follow a legal process. Administrator Steve Hyndman told Council that if the salvage yard operation resumes “staff will pursue remedies.” Sinclair has told the media he will start up again despite what the city says.
