A sign that the cleanup of Belleville’s Meyer’s Pier is progressing…. some of that business comes before City Council later today.
Councillors will be asked to approve an agreement with the Ontario CleanWater Agency to provide the operation and maintenance of the Jane Forrester Park Pre-treatment Facility. The new facility will pre-treat the “captured contaminated groundwater” from the Meyer’s Pier area before it goes to the city’s main sewage treatment plant. There, it will undergo further treatment before being allowed to flow back into the Bay of Quinte. Another major item on the agenda…a report on a proposed bylaw to regulate adult entertainment establishments.
