The SIU has finished it’s investigation into a police-related crash north of Campbellford and say officers were not at fault.
The incident happened around 1am last Saturday when a Northumberland O-P-P officer tried to stop a vehicle driving erratically.
The car wouldn’t stop… blew a stop-sign… then accelerated away on County Road 38.
Due to the high speed… officers called off the chase.
20 minutes later they responded to an accident on the same road… and found it to be the same car they were chasing.
All 4 men in the car were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver… 44 Year old Brian Dexter of Peterborough.. was hit with 9 different charges yesterday… whcih include multiple counts of impaired operation, flight from police, and failing to stop.
