The fourth municipality with a Mayor on the former Quinte Health Care board of directors won’t take a position on heads of council being on the new Q-H-C board until August tenth.
Quinte West Council voted this week in favour of the city’s mayor, as well as the mayors of Prince Edward County, Belleville and Brighton, being on the board.
Belleville favours establishing an advisory committee of Mayors and the Warden of Hastings County, with one of them on the board, and Prince Edward council voted to have its mayor included.
Mayor Chris Herrington says the issue won’t be discussed in Brighton until the committee of the whole meets on the second Monday in August. The Q-H-C’s Community Advisory Council doesn’t want any mayors on the new 16-person board.
