Over 400-thousand dollars in development fees in Prince Edward County sit frozen, because of a more than year-old appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board.
Six developers filed the appeal in April of last year, claiming the charges are excessive and they disagree with some methodology of the background study used to determine the fees.
Prince Edward’s Chief Administrative Officer, Dick Shannon, says just over 433-thousand dollars in development charges collected since the bylaw came into affect can’t be used unless the county is successful at an O-M-B hearing.
No date for that hearing has been set.
