The staff at the Belleville and District Chamber of Commerce Log Cabin have noticed a bit of a downturn in American visitors to the city so far this summer.
C-E-O Angela Genereaux doesn’t have exact numbers, but new laws, requiring a passport for anyone returning to the United States from Canada, has had an effect.
However, there are still a lot of visitors from Quebec, who have made the Quinte Area a popular travel destination in recent years..
Genereaux says the number of local residents stopping at the cabin, asking for tourism information about the region is about the same as it was last year at this time.
