A Belleville Councillor doesn’t like going into a legal battle until he knows the city has a “legitimate stand.” Councillor Jack Miller was referring to the appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board by the owner of a 77-unit rental property on Tracey Park Drive, following the city’s rejection of its plan for condominum status. But Planning Chair Tom Lafferty says the city has a “very solid position” …it has concerns about the availability of affordable rental units . The committee is recommending that the city have its solicitor represent Belleville at the O-M-B hearing. No date has yet been set.
