Allegations from 27-years ago have resulted in sex charges against a well-known Belleville Hockey Coach. 52-year old Wayne Michael Sanderson was charged with two counts of intercourse with a girl under 14 and gross indecency by Toronto Police on Saturday. The alleged offences occured while Sanderson was coaching figure skating between 1982-and-1986. Police say during that time a man sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 14 in his apartment. Sanderson has been a power skating instructor in the Quinte Region and has coached in the Belleville Bearcats Girls Minor Hockey Association the last several years. He was seen and heard on newscasts around the world after the death of his son Don during a senior hockey game in Whitby last winter. Sanderson appears in a Toronto Court in June.
