A member of Cramahe Township council will be sentenced next month for the baseball bat assault on a man who threatened his father.
Thirty-nine-year-old Councillor Timothy Gilligan pled guilty to assault with a weapon in Cobourg provincial court yesterday.
He and his father, Tim Gilligan Senior, were charged with assault by Northumberland O-P-P last June 24th after the younger man chased 22-year-old Shane Carter through Colborne and hit him twice in the mouth with the bat… That came after the elder Gilligan was threatened by several young people..
Sentencing for Timothy Gilligan is set for April 27th.
