It appears the Wilson Island Bridge replacement project could be more expensive then originally thought.
Director of Public Works for Quinte West, Chris Angelo, told Council last night that the lowest bid for the job came in at 753 thousand dollars, and when other expenses were added, the project might cost 860 thousand. That’s 160 thousand more then expected.
Northumberland County is handling the project, but the bridge spans both the County, and Quinte West. A decision on the plan will be made in the near future.
