Young men out of control in two separate and serious assaults in Belleville early yesterday(Sunday) morning.
First, Belleville Police were called to a Wareham Street address where they found a 21 year old Thurlow man covered in blood. Investigation revealed this man had assaulted a 24 year old Belleville man at the Wareham Street home because he hadn’t backed up the 21 year old in a fight earlier at a bar. The 21 year old was charged with assault.
Investigation also revealed that there had been a bloody incident on Lingham Street earlier. The 21 year old, and a 25 year old Belleville man entered the Lingham street home. There, the 21 year old attacked a male resident, punching him, and holding a knife to his throat. A broken beer bottle was also involved. A female at the home tried to intervene, but was assaulted by the 25 year old man. She did escape and call police. The male victim from Lingham street was treated at hospital, while the female didn’t need treatment for her injuries, and neither did the male victim on Wareham Street. The Thurlow 21 year old man, and the 25 year old man from Belleville both face charges involving assault, uttering death threats, and assault with a weapon. They are in court today.
