The Quinte Healthcare Corporate members have sent a clear message to Q-H-C, that they don’t want hospital cutbacks.
Prince Edward County Mayor Leo Finnegan says about 100 people braved yesterday’s snowstorm for a members meeting in Picton with hospital officials.
He says Q-H-C made a power point presentation of the three options to reduce a projected 15-million-dollar deficit, and then one of the corporate members suggested a straw vote be held on each of the options, and there was no support for any of the three.
Finnegan says it is obvious Quinte Healthcare will have to rework plans to close beds and make other reductions in Picton and Trenton.
