Today Belleville city council begins a number of days of budget deliberations, beginning with capital items. The capital budget has a number of items, and a recommendation for a Steering Committee to develop a “critical path” for the city’s arenas. Mayor Neil Ellis says council has its eye on some infrastructure money in the federal budget, for instance to help pay for the multi-million dollar Bell Boulevard bridge over the moira river. That bridge goes to tender in about two weeks.
