Windmills would not be anywhere near people if a group in Prince Edward County got its way. The Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County was one of three groups invited to speak at a public information meeting about wind energy last night (WED) at the Picton arena. APPEC president, Orville Walsh, says his reasons for fighting for restrictive by-laws for wind farms are based on the public good. Walsh says many industries in the community, such as agriculture and tourism, would be hurt by the presence of wind farms. The public meeting was the second of its kind. The first meeting was last October.
