Members of the Police Services Board will be examining a stack of resumes to fill its vacant Police Chief’s positon in Belleville. Board Chair Jack Miller says in excess of twenty applications were received from larger services like Ottawa, Winnipeg and Calgary as well as small services and internal applications. The board will soon meet to start reducing the number to its top ten prospects for interview purposes. The position will likely have a salary range of between 135 to 155-thousand dollars. Deputy Chief Brian Harder has filled the job on an interim basis since Chief Steve Tanner left to take over as Chief in Kingston.
