Kingston City and Ontario Provincial Police are helping patrol the streets of Belleville today, while police officers mourn the loss of one of their own.
Sergeant Beth Harder says seven or eight officers from the other forces will be in Belleville this afternoon, so City officers can attend the funeral of Acting Sergeant Michael Eby, beginning at two o’clock at Burke Funeral Home on Church Street..
The body of the 20-year-veteran of the force was found at the Police Station last Wednesday morning.
Sergeant Harder says the Kingston and O-P-P officers, who are volunteering their services, will wear their own uniforms, but will be driving Belleville Police vehicles.
