Quinte West Council has set it’s 2009 capital works budget. It totals just over 16 million dollars for the city’s portion, and 3.9 million dollars in water/sewer projects.
The city’s capital budget spending last year was 19 million dollars. The main items are 3 million dollars for roadwork, and 8.7 million for a new Smithfield overhead bridge.
Council decided to not spend 200 thousand dollars on a design study and preliminary work at the Robert Patrick Marina, and they cancelled a 450 thousand project for a water tower at Invar in Batawa.
