She doesn’t know if any dolls are headed her way, but M-P-P Leona Dombrowsky says a Bancroft-area woman misunderstands the government’s position on people raising their grandchildren.
Betty Cornelius of McArthur’s Mills told our newsroom earlier this week the Community and Social Services Ministry is cutting funding to grandparents looking after their children’s kids..
However, Dombrowsky says the province’s assistance through the temporary care program is up by almost 14 per cent over last year..
Cornelius is encouraging people raising their grandchildren to leave dolls, representing the kids, at Community and Social Services Minister Madelleine Meilleur’s Toronto office tomorrow, and at the offices of Dombrowsky and other Liberal M-P-P’s.
