Greater Napanee's Parade of Lights

Santa is on his way to Greater Napanee!

Join us on Saturday, December 2 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. as we welcome the Holiday season by celebrating with the Parade of Lights. Watch the decorative floats light up the streets of Downtown Napanee along Santa's route, and keep an eye out for Santa himself!

Don't forget to bring your letters for Santa and a non-perishable food item, which will be collected along the parade route.

A blood donation can’t be replaced or manufactured; it is the foundation of life. Donating blood is a genuine act of altruism and is a selfless gift. Without blood, surgeries or treatments for diseases such as cancer, would not be performed or received. Patients rely on blood donors to continue living their lives. A blood donation can make every major milestone in life possible. But it also makes even the simplest of moments possible like going for a walk in the park, watching a baseball game, and sharing some popcorn with a friend at the movies. Teen Rec. Volleyball

TEEN RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL

Join us for a 1 hour recreational volleyball session. Bring your friends or team and drop in for $3 per visit each week for a fun, social and active time. This is a co-ed program and is ideal for beginners or players who would like a non-competitive game just to have fun and be active. There is a no spiking/attacking rule and aggressive players will be asked to leave. This program is for youth ages 12-17 years.

Caregiver Workshop

When caring for a loved one, there can be many challenges. Often in caregiving, we can feel alone and overwhelmed. On Thursday, December 7 at 2:30pm, the Belleville Public Library will be hosting a workshop with Elder Abuse Ontario that will walk you through those challenges and share resources that are available for caregivers and families of seniors.

Quinte Rowing Club's Annual Tree & Wreath Sale & Event

It's time for Quinte Rowing Club's 2nd Annual Tree and Wreath Sale Sponsored again by Careen's Christmas Trees, where we'll be pre-selling trees and wreaths, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Quinte Rowing Club. Trees are selling for $45 and wreaths for $25. The deadline for wreath orders is November 16, and Nov. 30 for trees. Cash payments due on pick-up day, December 9 at QRC.

This year, we're using our pick-up day to host a very special event. As you may know, the Quinte Rowing Club was the recipient of a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, as a part of the Ontario150 Community Capital Program. Starting at 11:00 am, we'll welcome representatives from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help us celebrate the grant! Please join us at 11:00 am on December 9 to help celebrate!

Hospice Quinte Memorial Trees

Be a part of Hospice Quinte’s annual Memorial Trees fundraiser and support visiting hospice palliative care and bereavement services in the Quinte region.

All donations go to support programs aimed at keeping seniors independent at home such as Meals on Wheels and Medical Transportation.

TEEN RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL

Join us for a 1 hour recreational volleyball session. Bring your friends or team and drop in for $3 per visit each week for a fun, social and active time. This is a co-ed program and is ideal for beginners or players who would like a non-competitive game just to have fun and be active. There is a no spiking/attacking rule and aggressive players will be asked to leave. This program is for youth ages 12-17 years.

Christmas Baking Exchange

Join us at the Stirling-Rawdon Public Library for a Christmas Baking Exchange on December 12th from 6pm-7pm. Bake up your favourite Christmas recipe, whether it's a cookie, bar or square and bring it, along with a copy of the recipe, to the library to swap with others. You will be able to taste all the different recipes and go home with new ones to try! Bring at least 4 dozen of one recipe, 1 dozen for tasting and the remainder for sharing. As part of our ongoing support of our Syrian families residing in Belleville, we are continuing to raise funds. On behalf of St. Matthew’s United Church and the United Syrian Family Support (Belleville), we are excited to announce that

Canadian Grand Master Fiddler; Scott Woods and his band, are bringing their ‘Old Time Christmas’ show to St. Matthew’s United Church on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

Look forward to being entertained by a masterful two hour presentation of seasonal songs, inspirational stories and lots of family fun that will open your heart to the joy of the Christmas spirit.

Youth Leaders support the Red Cross Youth First Aid Program through the delivery of the Stay Safe! and Babysitting courses. With the required prerequisites, candidates enter into this comprehensive Youth Leader Program, to prepare them to teach, facilitate and support dynamic, learner-centered classroom environments. This course consists of online learning modules (5-7 hours) and upon completion of this training, candidates must then successfully complete a teaching experience in a Red Cross Youth First Aid Program.

Be a part of Hospice Quinte’s annual Memorial Trees fundraiser and support visiting hospice palliative care and bereavement services in the Quinte region.

For your donation of $20 we will honour the memory of loved one by placing a dove with their name on our Memorial Christmas trees at the Quinte Mall. They will be on display from December 9 to 17.

We understand that the run up to Christmas can be difficult if someone special will be missed from the celebrations.

Memorial Trees is a lovely way to remember and celebrate the lives of those who won’t be here to share Crhistmas with us this year, but who remain in our thoughts and memories.

Carols by Candlelight

The Choirs of St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Belleville, will be presenting “Carols by Candlelight,” a Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols on Sunday afternoon, December 17th. The service will be presented in the traditional style of King's College, Cambridge. The Junior and Senior choirs, conducted and accompanied by music directors Matthieu Latreille & Francine Nguyen-Savaria, will present Christmas carols and anthems. The congregation is also invited to join in singing some all-time favourites.

The event will start at 4:30 PM. A reception will follow during which light refreshments will be served.

Teen Rec. Volleyball

TEEN RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL

Join us for a 1 hour recreational volleyball session. Bring your friends or team and drop in for $3 per visit each week for a fun, social and active time. This is a co-ed program and is ideal for beginners or players who would like a non-competitive game just to have fun and be active. There is a no spiking/attacking rule and aggressive players will be asked to leave. This program is for youth ages 12-17 years.

The Drawing Room offers non-instructional studio sessions to encourage the traditional practice of drawing and painting the human figure from a draped model. HIGH FIVE PRINCIPLES OF HEALTHY CHILD DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

This one-day training will help front-line leaders (anyone working with children aged 6 to12 " i.e. camp counselor, coach, swim instructor) improve the quality of programs. It provides in depth training in the HIGH FIVE®Principles of healthy child development so front-line leaders understand what they need to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met. Leaders learn activities and gain knowledge, tips and resources to enhance their programs as well as their relationships with children and other staff members. Participants must be 15 years of age.
