Come be part of the Knitterati! Belleville Public Library's social knitting circle "Knitterati" will return in January 2017. Bring your knitting, crochet, or other fiber craft project to this free drop in program on the second floor of the library to work as a group, chat, and meet other knitters! Just starting out and need a little help casting on? Don’t worry; your fellow knitters will be there to give you a hand or offer advice. Monthly support group for Stroke Survivors. We talk about stroke recovery, share tips on adjusting to daily life tasks and routines, make connections with other survivors and learn about community resources. Quinte Christian High School is hosting a Free Tv & Electronics Drop Off, at the Giant Tiger/Walmart Supercentre Parking Lot, this Fri. Jan 13 & Sat. Jan 14, at Hwy 62 and Millennium Drive. It runs from 9am to 5pm both days. This a fundraiser for the school and an excellent opportunity for you to get rid of your unwanted electronics.

Acceptable Items include: tv's, computers, stereos, phones, cameras, speakers, dvd players and more. for a complete list go to http://www.recycleyourelectronics.ca or contact the QCHS at 613-968-7870. Help keep ewaste out of our landfills by properly disposing of them at this event. Everyone will be entered into a draw for Gift Cards that have been generously donated for retailers in the Supercentre. Thank you for your support.

AN INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN HARPSICHORDIST IN CONCERT AT ST. THOMAS’

Harpsichordist Luc Beauséjour will give a concert at St. Thomas' Anglican Church in Belleville as part of the third edition of “Music at St. Thomas'” on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 4:30 pm. Dr. Beauséjour is renowned for the elegance, virtuosity, and expressiveness of his playing. He leads a very active performing schedule in Canada and abroad. He has performed in the United States, France, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, and Bermuda. He was invited to perform at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto for a commemoration of the great pianist's birthday. He has recorded over twenty albums. A reception will follow.

ARTIST TALK

“Inn from the Cold” " Winter Food Ministry Program " Hot Meals for 42 nights - from Wed., Jan. 18 to Tues., Feb. 28 - Bridge St. United Church, 60 Bridge St. E. (side door), Belleville. Free hot meals and a warm place to be during the coldest time of the year. Doors open at 4 p.m., coffee/soup served at 4:30 p.m., nutritious, hot meals served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. No registration required. If unable to attend from 5 to 6:30 p.m., a frozen meal can be picked up daily from 2 to 4 p.m. Registration on your first visit is required for this “pick up” component of this program. The Trenton MFRC invites the military community and friends to join us at the Batawa Community Centre for the second January Jubilee on Saturday, January 21, 2017! From 11 a.m. " 3 p.m., community members can participate in fun, winter activities like ice skating, nature walks, pond hockey, indoor winter crafts, wagon rides and more! There will be a hot lunch and hot beverages provided by the MFRC. Also, at the start of the event (11 a.m.) the Batawa Lions Club will host a grand opening of their new rinks and heated change room. They will also have an outdoor fire pit, serving hot chocolate and s'mores!

ARTIST TALK

Marlene McCallum will be at the Parrott Gallery on Thursday, January 26 6:30 - 8 p.m. to talk about her exhibit, “The Unfolding Narrative”. During this talk, Marlene will present actual photogravure prints and artist’s books in a discussion about her thematic evolution and interest in these two formats. This is the second of three artist's talks during these exhibitions.

Couples Stroke group

A monthly Couples Stroke Support group is available at Community Care for South Hastings. Stroke Survivors and their Caregivers meet together. We talk about managing changes in daily life and in relationships as a result of stroke. Concerns are shared and we problem solve together. Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month. Delhi Park- Stormwater Outfall Remediation

A PUBLIC INFORMATION OPEN HOUSE will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 to discuss proposed improvements to the two Delhi Park Stormwater Outfalls. The project aims to improve water quality using conventional approaches to treat the stormwater " which currently drains, untreated, directly into Marsh Creek and then to Picton Bay (Bay of Quinte).

The project is a cooperative effort between Environment Canada’s Great Lakes Sustainability Fund, Ministry of the Environment’s Canada-Ontario Agreement for the Great Lakes, The County of Prince Edward, and Quinte Conservation Authority.

The format will be ‘Open House’ and you are invited to drop in anytime between 2pm and 4pm or 6pm and 8pm.

Information boards will be on display and representatives from Quinte Conservation will be available to answer questions and provide information.

The 5th Annual Kerr Pond hockey tournament is taking place on January 28, 2017 on Oak Lake, south of Stirling. The proceeds from this years tournament will go to support Wheelchair Basketball Belleville, at the YMCA of CEO. Stirling and District Lions Club Paint Nite

The Stirling and District Lions Club is excited to present Paint Nite® as our contribution this year’s Annual Stirling Hogfest.

We invite you to join us at the Stirling Lions Hall, upstairs in the Stirling Arena, on Saturday January 29th, 2017 for a night of drinking, eating and creating art guided by a professional artist.
