Fast food and science have teamed up to boost the value of planned construction in the Municipality of Brighton this year.
Last month, building permits worth 3.2 million dollars were issued for the McDonald’s restaurant to be built on County Road 30 at 401.
Another permit was issued for the complete renovation of the science lab at East Northumberland Secondary School.
It was worth 1.9 million dollars.
So far this year, permits valued at 6.3 million dollars have been issued in Brighton, up from the 5.8 million in 2015.
However, last year there was more new home construction, with 18 units, up from 9 so far this year.
