Marijuana facility deal falls through

A medical marijuana facility will not be constructed in the industrial park in Belleville as first thought.

Quinte News has learned that a deal to have the company Fleurish Cannabis buy the former Exxon Mobil building on University Avenue fell through recently.

A spokesperson with C-B Ironside Ellis, the listing agent for the property, says the property is back up for sale.

Last month in front of Belleville’s Planning Committee, company CAO Michael Smith made a presentation to council, to develop the 200,000 square foot facility.

The facility was going to initially employ 50 people, with the potential of adding another 150.

Meantime a BC based company, who was looking to build a marijuana research facility at the former Nortel site, says their deals not dead.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON THAT STORY.
