Two schools in Northumberland-Quinte West are receiving more than $1 million combined, as part of a provincial strategy to create 45,000 new licensed child care spaces.
MPP Lou Rinaldi announced today 25 of those spaces are coming to his riding.
Brighton Public School will be getting more than $519,200 to create 10 infant care spaces while L’Envol, a Catholic French immersion elementary school in Trenton, will get a little more than $524,300 for 15 toddler care spaces.
The money is part of a five-year provincial commitment to help parents get access to care for their children, up to four years old, at a cost of $1.6 billion.
