It’s a case of better late than never for the Trenton Rowing and Paddling Club as it it has officially opened for the season.
The club’s opening was delayed due to weather and high water levels on the Trent River, but an open house is being held tomorrow (Saturday) to mark the occasion, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., at the boathouse at 80 Ontario Street.
Club officials say coaches and members will be on hand to show off equipment, answer questions and take new membership applications.
The TRPC operates various learn to row programs for canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and more, plus has added a dragon boat team this year as well.
The club says because of the late opening memberships for the 2017 season are being reduced 30%.
