8 Wing has its new Chief Warrant Officer, replacing CWO Darcy Elder, who held the job for the past three years and is retiring from the military.
Chief Warrant Officer Troy Zuorro officially took over at a ceremony at the National Air Force Museum of Canada today.
CWO Zuorro has a strong technical background working on various aircraft including the CT-133 T-Bird, CH-135 Twin Huey and the CH-124 Sea King and has been deployed on a number of missions including NATO’s Operation Sharp Guard in the Adriatic Sea.
He also held numerous leadership roles at 12 Wing Shearwater and 1 Canadian Air Division and has been inducted into the Order of Military Merit.
CWO Zuorro’s main role will be supporting the incoming Wing Commander in leading the members of 8 Wing.
