Three local school boards will benefit from some provincial funding this year.
MPP Lou Rinaldi announced a total of more than $6.4 million for projects at schools in Northumberland-Quinte West, today.
The Hastings Prince Edward Board will get about $2.6 million, the Kawartha Pine Ridge School Board is getting about $2.1 million, just over $1.1 million is being allocated to the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Board, with the Peterborough-area catholic board getting about $528,000.
Rinaldi says it’s all part of a provincial commitment of $1.4 billion for school renewal and repair projects across Ontario this year.
