Ongoing battle against graffiti

The warmer weather has led to more wannabe artists running around the streets of Belleville, but their artwork isn’t popular with community leaders.

Belleville Councillor Jack Miller says graffiti is out of hand throughout the city.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of the Belleville Police Service, Mike Callaghan, says a special graffiti unit involving two full time officers has been at work on the problem and he expects some “taggers” will be facing charges in the near future.
