The Hastings Prince Edward School Board is looking at consolidating more schools around the region.

At last night’s board meeting, officials approved sending three requests to the province for new buildings, one in Trenton, another Bayside and finally Marmora.

Business Superintendent Leslie Miller says the Accommodation Review Committee took into account the growth at the air base for their decision in Trenton.

The board expects to hear back from the Education Ministry early next year.

The schools if approved would open for the 2016-17 or 17-18 school year.
