Belleville is clearing up its ownership of harbourfront lands by dealing with the nitty gritty of private property abutments.

Police Commission hands down penalty this week
Stirling’s Police Chief finds out the penalty in store for him when he appears before the Ontario Civilian Police Commission on Thursday of this week.
A spokesperson for the Commission has told our newsroom that when Chief Brian Foley appeared before the Commission on June 7 he “admitted to the allegation ” that he gave pepper spray to a “female member of the public.”
In Canada only law enforcement officers are allowed to legally carry or possess pepper spray.
A civilian could face up to 500-thousand dollars in fines or three years in jail for “causing serious bodily harm” to anyone by means of pepper spray.
On Thursday the Commission will hand down its penalty to Foley.
The hearing in Toronto is open to the public.
