Trees and condos in Belleville

Plans for a two-building condominium on Belleville’s College Street east have run into a roadblock.

Last night a number of residents of the neighbourhood told the city’s planning committee they had concerns about plans for a garage in the back of the buildings.

Area resident Kelly Sage said she would lose her privacy if the trees are removed to create a garage for the condos.

Consultant Ruth Fergeson Aulthouse, representing the developer, indicated it might be possible to maintain the trees, and the matter was deferred to consider what changes to the plan could be made.
