Belleville is undertaking a major sewer and storm water main separation project on two of its streets this year.
City Council has awarded the two-point-three million dollar contract to Gordon Barr Limited, the lowest bidder.
The work will involve a new stormwater main on Boswell and Harriett streets, as well as new sewer systems, part of a “separation program” to prevent storm water from ending up in the sewage treatment plant .
Both streets will also be rebuilt, including new curbs.
Deputy engineer Ray Ford told council the work will start this year, with completion in 2013.
