Twenty firefighters are finally gaining control of a serious house fire in Quinte West.
Fire crews were called about 4 o’clock this morning to the fire at a two-storey brick home on Dundas Street West in Trenton.
The fire started in the basement and flames quickly spread upwards toward the attic and then the roof.
The home’s occupants, a woman and her four children, were able to get out of the building safely.
A family pet was lost in the blaze.
The home has been completely destroyed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but the origin is suspected to be electrical.
