House building strong in Bellevile

A lot more building approved in Belleville last month then in July of last year.

The City of Belleville reports building permits were issued for a total construction value of $6.3m (million) last month.

Fourteen permits were for new houses.

In July of last year, only $2m (million) worth of permits were issued.

However, the amount of building approved so far this year is much lower then it was last year.

For the first 7 months of 2011, permits were issued for over $68m (million), while so far this year, total construction value is $30m (million).
