A 59 year old man has extensive damage to his lower lip after being bit by a dog in Havelock.
Peterborough County OPP say the man, who was intoxicated at the time, wandered onto the driveway of a George Street property on Friday where the dog, a 10-year old boxer was tied up.
The man was ordered off the property by the owners but fell when he turned to leave and was bitten in the face by the animal.
The victim was taken to Campbellford Memorial Hospital for treatment, while the dog is being quarantined for 10 days.

why should the dog be quarantined ? the drunk idiot was on someone else’s property where he had no business to be there the dog was protecting it’s owners.
Put the drunk in quarantine for 10 days, sounds like he’s the problem here…
wtf…isnt that the whole point of having a dog is to guard your house and be loyal?
I’d bite that jerk to, put the drunk in quarantine!!
I currently have 4 boxers at my house…with at times 6 children there….not once have I seen anyone of them bit…clearly this dog was protecting and as others have posted , punish the drunk, not the dog.
The dog is likely under quarantine because it isn’t up to date with its rabbi shots, not as a punishment. I do however, believe the man that was bitten should be charged with being drunk in a public place.
The man should also be charged with tresspassing… he was on someone elses property
