Drunk driver report helps find stolen car

An initial report of a drunk driver has led Belleville City Police to a stolen vehicle… and a suspect.

Officers were alerted of a possible drunk driver at Sidney and Bridge Streets … and found the black Ford Explorer had been stolen from Napanee earlier this morning.

Officers located the vehicle at Bell Boulevard and North Front Streets and followed the driver onto the Westbound 401 where multiple units conducted a traffic stop.

A 26 year old woman from Brampton was charged with one count of Possession of property obtained by crime… and one count of breach of probation.

She’ll be in court on August 30th.
