Burn bans continue across Quinte Region

With no sign of rain in the near future local fire departments are reminding the public about burn bans in effect across the region.

Marmora and Lake Fire Chief Tony Brownson says his department will continue with a full ban for the entire municipality, until we get some extended rainfall.

The situation is much the same in Belleville, Quinte West, Stirling-Rawdon, Centre Hastings, Prince Edward County, Madoc Township and Trent Hills.

Authorities say the conditions are still very dangerous and lighting fires under a ban can lead to charges.
