Bay of Quinte Poker Run winners announced

The Bay of Quinte Poker Run was a big success yesterday.

Forty-three pro boats and 15 boats from the smaller rendezvous division competed together for prizes like a BBQ and tool set donated by local businesses.

First prize went to Patrick and Gwen Bray of Belleville. They won the competition in their 42-foot Sonic with a five-card flush.

Patrick Bray, who also helped organize the event, said it was a great day for everyone who participated.

Doug Johnston of Gananoque got second place with his 17-foot Wilker. Johnston, who was entered in the smaller rendezvouz division, collected three nines in his poker hand.

In third place was Brian and Janet Lundy of Brockville with their 43-foot Nortech. They collected three eights.

The fun continues today with time trials and charity boat rides.

Proceeds will help fund prostate cancer research.
