Preliminary results from a Ministry of Natural Resources survey, which began in May, say the Bay of Quinte fishery is in good shape.
Jim Hoyle of the Provincial M.N.R. says it’s been a few years since they last surveyed the Bay but the health of the fishery has been stable for the last 10 years or so.
Hoyle says the recent heat-wave hasn’t affected the fish too much.
Although warm spring temperatures did cause some walleye to spawn up to a month early.
