Arrest at gunpoint in downtown Belleville

A dramatic arrest in downtown Belleville last night.
Belleville Police arrested a man at gunpoint after they received reports a man was walking in the downtown area with a gun not far from the Empire Rockfest.
A patrol officer was able to locate the suspect walking with a group of people on Victoria Avenue between Pinnacle and Front Street about 8 p.m. and the man was arrested at gunpoint.
A gun was recovered at the scene.
A 29-year-old Belleville man was taken into custody without incident. He’s now facing a number of charges.
The suspect’s name is not being released until after a bail hearing Monday.
Good Job done once again by Belleville Police! God only knows what some sickos plan on doing with these guns or why they think they are so big time to have to carry them to begin with!
