Operation Corridor has wrapped up for another year.
The annual traffic check on commercial vehicles is done by the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation.
Police say the two parties laid a total of 372 charges during the 24-hour campaign including equipment and speeding charges.
89 vehicles were taken off the road due to rules violations.
Operation Corridor wrapped up at 6:00 this morning.

If they found this many violations in a 24 hour period, why not run an ongoing program to ensure that these commercial drivers are always adhering to the rules of the road? This was a highly publicized operation, and I am sure that many of the commercial drivers adjusted their driving habits accordingly, or just didn’t drive at all if their vehicle didn’t meet proper guidelines… but you know they will be back to business as usual again today.
Could not agree more with the comment by Deseronto Resident. Having been tailgated and harassed (by aggressive driving) by commercial vehicles, scared half to death facing when they suddenly appear over the brow of a hill passing against solid road centre lines I know that there are many more bad commercial drivers out there who need a good slap on the wrist. They think they are gods of the road. They are not. They are arrogant but they know that they have size and weight to intimidate the rest of us. This comment will no doubt get some flames (if it is published) and OK maybe the bad ones are the minority, but they bring down the entire industry’s reputation. so take them out and hit them where it hurts, fines and/or revocation of their licences.
