New June 1st rainfall record

It shouldn’t surprise too many people… but all of yesterday’s rainfall has set a new record for the region.
Showers throughout the day yesterday saw a total of 39.5 millimetres dumped on the Quinte area.
That surpasses the old June 1st record of 37.3 millimetres in 1972 by 2.2 millimetres.
Rain continues to be in the forecast for the next few days.
